This is Luke

On September 20th, 2011 Luke's pancreas suddenly stopped producing insulin and he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes - He was only 2 years old. Since then he has endured over 8000 blood glucose tests and over 4000 shots and pump cannula insertions. Luke is hypoglycemic unaware - which means we could loose him to low blood sugars. There is no way to cure or prevent this disease. A Diabetic Alert Dog can save his life.

Why A Diabetic Alert Dog?

Diabetic Alert Dogs will can tell when blood sugars rise and drop. They alert to highs as well as lows before our meters can even detect the fluctuation which keeps Type 1's healthier and safe. The dog will help watch over him 24 hours a day. They are certified service dogs that have public access and will go with Luke wherever he goes to keep him safe.

Please consider making a donation so that Luke can get his own Diabetic Alert Dog. All proceeds will go directly towards Luke's dog and the training and support that is needed to have a Diabetic Alert Dog.

This site is dedicated to our son and raising awareness for Type 1 diabetes.
